WhatsApp Business Glitch Causes Silent Calls Today
WhatsApp Business reportedly experienced an outage this morning, Thursday (28 May 2026). Indonesian users and business operators also reported issues with WhatsApp Business. Users took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice their concerns. According to WhatsApp Business users on X, while chat lists and message histories appeared normal when opening the app, voice and video calls remained connected but produced no sound from either party. This ‘silent’ condition prevented communication, even after users repeatedly ended and redialed calls. Confused users tried switching to the regular WhatsApp Messenger app for calls, which worked without issues, confirming their internet connections were stable. Downdetector.id reported a surge in WhatsApp Business outages starting around 9:00 AM WIB on Thursday, with complaints peaking by 10:00 AM. As of publication, neither WhatsApp nor Meta has confirmed the issue or its cause. At 11:45 AM WIB, the outage continued to be discussed by netizens and business operators on X. One user mentioned it was their first encounter with a WhatsApp Business glitch, initially suspecting faulty phone speakers or microphones. Others complained the issue severely disrupted their work hours, with one tweeting: ‘Please fix this @WhatsApp, since 9 AM WhatsApp Business calls have been completely silent.’ Another user expressed panic over failed client pitches and follow-ups due to the loss of voice call functionality. As of publication, WhatsApp has yet to provide an explanation for the problem.
