WhatsApp App on Android Undergoes Changes with New Feature Buttons

WhatsApp is preparing a new design for its Android application. This latest update targets the navigation bar, which will receive a new look alongside the addition of Meta AI features.

According to reports from GSM Arena, the design is still in the development stage and has not yet reached its final version. In the leaked interface, the Meta AI button even appears in two different locations.

Nevertheless, these changes indicate that Meta AI will likely be integrated directly into the WhatsApp navigation bar. The button will no longer be placed as a floating button above the Compose button, as seen in the current design.

The navigation bar also appears to have been made more oval and transparent. GSM Arena noted that the appearance is beginning to resemble the WhatsApp navigation bar on iOS, although the level of transparency is not yet identical.

WhatsApp is also preparing a dedicated look for dark mode. This new design was discovered in the WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.26.38.10, which is currently available to users in the beta programme.

However, development is still in its early stages. WhatsApp is expected to require several more weeks before this new design is ready for public release.
