What's up with seat belts?
What's up with seat belts?
From Koran Tempo
The spreading of the good word on seat belts ahead of the May
5 deadline after which the police will begin ticketing drivers
who fail to buckle up is surrounded by several unanswered
questions.
The police should explain whether the obligation to wear a
seat belt only applies to those sitting in the front seat or to
all passengers. Also, have automobile manufacturers or assemblers
in the country been informed of this new campaign, so they make
sure all of their vehicles are properly equipped with seat belts?
It makes me proud to see my fellow citizens practice some
discipline by using their seat belts. Stern action should be
taken against violators to educate them about seat belts instead
of simply making them pay fines, especially considering the fact
that most of these car owners are rich.
