Life as a STD (TIM 1, 7:05 p.m.)

Physician Tomasz learns he is terminally ill; moody and
suspicious by nature, he now sets about trying to destroy a young
couple's love (in Polish with English subtitles/99 minutes).

Puisi Tak Terkuburkan (TIM 1, 9:15 p.m.)

The film by Garin Nugroho tells the story of street children
in Yogyakarta (120 minutes, Indonesian).

Return of the Idiot (TIM 2, 7:45 p.m.)

Life in a small town, from Czech director Sasa Gedeon, voted
of the 10 exceptionally promising young directors at the 1999
Sundance Film Festival (100 minutes).

Tjambuk Api (TIM 2, 9:45 p.m.)

A 1958 movie by noted Indonesian director Djajakusuma. Effendy
works for the fussy Sulastri, but wants to achieve his dream to
be a singer. Part of the festival tribute to the late director
(in Indonesian with English subtitles/130 minutes).

Run Lola Run (Plaza Senayan, 7:45 p.m.)

Lola runs as fast as her legs can carry her in order to save
the life of her boyfriend, who has been taken into "custody" by
some dissatisfied clients. An offbeat winner (87 minutes).

I Married a Strange Person (Jakarta Theater, 5:30 p.m.)

Newlyweds Grant and Kerry have their lives turned upside down
when two love-smitten ducks crash into a satellite dish and Grant
is affected by the radiation (in English, 75 minutes).

Kadosh (Jakarta Theater, 7:45 p.m.)

Rivka and Malka are two sisters who are confronted with the
rigidity of fate and the suffocating climate within a community
where free human interaction is not possible. A 1999 Israeli-
French production (99 minutes).

Wings of Hope (Usmar Ismail Film Center, 5 p.m.)

A documentary by Werner Herzog about Julianne Koepcke, who
survived a plane crash in the Peruvian jungle in 1971. She
retraces her steps 25 years later (60 minutes).

Pacinko/Short: Autist (Usmar Ismail Film Center, 7:15 p.m.)

In Pacinko, a grandmother, a mother and a daughter live in
harmony in Tokyo -- but they have totally different lives when
apart. (Japanese with English and Indonesian subtitles).

In Autist, a girl is persecuted by those around her for seeing
the world differently (in English, 6 minutes).

Sebuah Pertanyaan untuk Cinta/Short: Seraglio (Usmar Ismail
Film Center, 9:30 p.m.)

The first is a movie by Enison Sinaro based on short stories
by Seno Gumira and Putu Wijaya. In the 1970s, a boy places a love
charm on a girl's foot and they vow to marry each other, which
they do in the 1980s even though they are still students. By the
1990s, the woman is involved with a married man (87 minutes,
Indonesian with English subtitles).

In Seraglio, an unhappy housewife finds an anonymous love
letter and becomes an unlikely seductress (in English, 13
