What's in a hospital's name

JAKARTA (JP): The general hospital in Ambon, Maluku, is changing its name from Kuda Mati, which literally means dead horse, to Dr. M. Haulussy, in honor of one of the province's best sons.

The new name was endorsed by the Maluku Legislative Assembly to commemorate Haulussy's major contribution to the development of health in the province.

It was also changed because its original name, taken after the district where it is located, is now deemed inappropriate, Niti Sumiarso, a member of the assembly, told the Antara news agency. (emb)
