What is the Salary for the 2026 National Internship Programme Batch 2? Check the Rules!
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) will open registration for the second batch of the National Internship Programme in mid-July. Successful participants will receive a range of benefits, including a salary, a certificate, and professional mentors. According to the official Kemnaker website, the government is providing 150,000 internship placements this year, an increase from the previous 100,000. This increase is based on the positive results of the first batch of the National Internship Programme in supporting employment absorption. Manpower Minister Yassierli stated during the launch of the programme’s second batch in Jakarta on Monday (29/6/2026) that this is good news for recent university graduates, and the quota increase represents the government’s commitment to expanding job opportunities and strengthening the transition of graduates into the world of work. The 150,000 placements are planned to be allocated across three batches. Registration for the first batch will open on 15 July 2026, with the selection process running from 29 July to 5 August 2026. The internship period is scheduled to begin on 11 August 2026. Regarding the salary, Minister Yassierli confirmed that the allowance for participants in the 2026 programme will be equal to the minimum wage applicable in the regency or city where they are placed. Specifically for Jakarta, the allowance will be based on the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). This follows the framework established by Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 8 of 2025, as amended by Regulation Number 11 of 2025, which stipulates that the government assistance for the internship programme, in the form of a monthly allowance, is provided for a period of six months with the amount determined by the minister. As an example, the 2026 Regency/City Minimum Wages (UMK) for the Special Region of Yogyakarta are: Yogyakarta City at Rp 2,827,593; Sleman Regency at Rp 2,624,387; Bantul Regency at Rp 2,509,001; Kulon Progo Regency at Rp 2,504,520; and Gunungkidul Regency at Rp 2,468,378. The complete schedule for the programme includes company and government institution registration from 29 June to 15 July 2026, participant registration from 15 to 28 July 2026, selection from 29 July to 5 August 2026, announcement of results on 7 August 2026, and the first day of the internship on 10 August 2026. To register, applicants must first create an account on the SIAP Kerja platform via the Kemnaker website, then apply for the programme through the Magang Hub portal.
