What is the Reason for BGN Hiring Dozens of Event Organiser Services Worth Rp 113 Billion
Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana has explained the reasons for his agency hiring event organiser (EO) services. According to him, BGN does not yet have the resources fully ready to manage all the needs of large-scale activities.
BGN, he said, is a relatively new institution that is still building its systems and operational governance. He claimed that the policy of hiring EO services from BGN’s 2025 budget allocation is considered part of strategic needs.
“Using EO services to ensure activities run professionally, to standard, and on time,” said Dadan in a written statement on Sunday, 12 April 2026.
Moreover, he assessed that EO parties have expertise not met by this nutrition agency. Dadan stated that organising BGN activities requires support from professional parties.
“EOs have special expertise in event management, from planning, vendor coordination, field technical management, to operational risk mitigation,” said Dadan.
In addition, according to him, using EO services can support more orderly institutional administration and financial governance. “This actually facilitates the audit process, supervision, and accountability of state budget use because all activity components are systematically documented,” he said.
He also claimed that using EO services to manage activities of the implementing agency for the free nutritious meals (MBG) project is more efficient and rational. Especially, he said, compared to building an internal team in a short time.
Dadan said the process of building internal capacity to handle all BGN activities would actually consume costs and time, including recruitment that is not instantaneous.
“In the meantime, the programme implementation needs must run immediately. EO serves as a bridge solution so the programme can still be executed without sacrificing quality and time,” said Dadan.
Previously, BGN appointed several companies to serve as event organisers for various activities of this nutrition agency. Throughout BGN’s 2025 procurement, there were at least 31 EO service hiring packages signed with a total contract value of Rp 113.9 billion.
Based on BGN’s goods and services procurement realisation data published by LKPP, the majority of EO hires are for activities at the head office. Several EO service provider companies often received tenders more than once.
Tempo recorded companies named Anugrah Duta Promosindo and Renjana Media Indonesia as the EO providers most frequently appointed by BGN. Both companies received four procurement EO service packages. The total contract value for EO services procurement at Anugrah Duta Promosindo is Rp 17.425 billion.
Meanwhile, the budget allocated by BGN to hire EO services at Renjana Media Indonesia is Rp 7.807 billion. BGN not only hires EO services for activities at the head office, but also hires EOs for technical guidance agendas.
BGN appointed a company named Maria Utara Jaya to handle technical guidance activities on risk management in the regional nutrition fulfilment service office area.
The contract value for EO service procurement with Maria Utara Jaya company is Rp 18.472 billion, or the largest compared to other contract packages. In addition to routine activities and training, BGN has been recorded hiring EO services for sports.
In commemorating World Anti-Corruption Day in 2025, BGN held an event titled “Fun Run Hakordia BGN”, appointing an EO company named Kredo Aum. The contract value for hiring EO for this running event is Rp 1.339 billion.
