What is the Difference Between BLT Kesra and BLT Dana Desa? Definitions, Amounts, and Disbursement Schedules

The government has launched a programme called Bantuan Langsung Tunai Dana Desa (BLT Dana Desa), following the earlier distribution of Bantuan Langsung Tunai Kesejahteraan Rakyat (BLT Kesra) in 2025. Both are known as additional social assistance (Bansos) distributed outside regular BLT programmes, such as the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT/Sembako Card). However, the two are different forms of aid. The most fundamental difference between BLT Kesra and BLT Dana Desa lies in their sources. BLT Kesra is distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos). Meanwhile, BLT Dana Desa is sourced from Village Funds through the Regional Transfer system. In addition, the difference between these two additional aids is the criteria for their respective beneficiaries. If the criteria for BLT Kesra recipients are fixed according to those set by the central government under Kemensos, then BLT Dana Desa recipients are determined through village deliberations and decided by the Village Head. Definition of BLT Kesra According to the Presidential Secretariat website, in 2025 the government officially launched the Bantuan Langsung Tunai Kesejahteraan Rakyat (BLT Kesra) programme aimed at increasing people’s purchasing power, while strengthening national economic growth. Amount of BLT Kesra Based on Minister of Social Affairs Decree Number 239/HUK/2025 Concerning the Distribution of Temporary Direct Cash Assistance for People’s Welfare, BLT Kesra is given at Rp300,000 per month for each Family Beneficiary Unit (KPM). This assistance is distributed for three consecutive months, so the total aid received can reach Rp900,000. The distribution is scheduled for October, November, and December. The distribution mechanism is carried out in stages, not all at once. This is intended so that the aid funds can be used more effectively for daily needs such as food and other essentials. Meanwhile, citing the Presidential Secretariat website, the distribution of BLT Kesra each month is carried out by the government through two schemes, namely through the State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara) and PT Pos Indonesia. BLT Kesra Recipients 2026 Still citing Minister of Social Affairs Decree Number 239/HUK/2025, BLT Kesra recipients are determined based on the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) and target people in deciles 1 to 4. Therefore, it can be concluded that BLT Kesra recipients must meet the following general requirements, among others: - Indonesian Citizens (WNI) - Registered in DTSEN - Part of deciles 1, 2, 3, and 4 - Pass verification and data validation by Kemensos BLT Kesra Disbursement Schedule 2026 BLT Kesra is distributed for three consecutive months, so the total aid received can reach Rp900,000. The distribution is scheduled for October, November, and December. However, citing the Komdigi website, it is reported that so far the government has not announced any continuation of BLT Kesra. Because the programme is stated as additional assistance that only applies in 2025. Therefore, the government has not set a disbursement schedule for BLT Kesra in 2026. What is BLT Dana Desa? Definition of BLT DD Meanwhile, referring to Minister of Finance Regulation Number 7 of 2026 on the Management of Village Funds for 2026 in Chapter V on the Use of Village Funds Article 20, it is understood that the use of village funds is prioritised for sustainable development, including handling extreme poverty in the form of direct cash assistance. Amount of BLT DD 2026 Based on Minister of Social Affairs Decree Number 239/HUK/2025 Concerning the Distribution of Temporary Direct Cash Assistance for People’s Welfare, BLT Kesra is given at Rp300,000 per month for each KPM. Furthermore, according to the Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions Regulation Number 16 of 2025 on Operational Guidelines for the Focus of Village Fund Use in 2026, Article 3 explains that BLT DD is distributed at a maximum of Rp300,000 per month per KPM. Next, the distribution mechanism is a maximum of three months, so the total aid received can reach Rp900,000. Payment of BLT DD to beneficiary families is carried out by cash and/or non-cash methods. BLT DD Recipients 2026 Referring to Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions Regulation Number 16 of 2025, it is stipulated that BLT DD beneficiaries are decided jointly through Village Deliberations while still considering the criteria set by the government, including the following: 1. Prioritised for families in extreme poverty conditions as determined by the government and domiciled in the relevant Village. 2. Loss of livelihood. 3. Having family members who are vulnerable to chronic illness, chronic disease, and/or persons with disabilities. 4. Not receiving Family Hope Programme social assistance. 5.
