What is the Actual Price of the Lululemon Bag Stolen at Soekarno-Hatta Airport?
TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - The Lululemon bags stolen by a syndicate of thieves in the cargo warehouse at Soekarno-Hatta Airport turned out to be quite expensive.
According to the official Lululemon website, the cheapest small bag is sold for as little as $29 or around IDR 510,000 at the current exchange rate.
Meanwhile, from the total company loss of IDR 213 million due to the loss of 108 bags, the average price of the Lululemon bags is estimated at IDR 1.9 million per bag.
In fact, the stolen bags were sold by the perpetrators to a fence for a much cheaper price, namely IDR 300,000 per bag.
“Based on the results of the examination, as many as 80 of the stolen bags were sold to a fence with the initials BO,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Yandri Mono, in a written statement, Friday (15/5/2026).
The theft occurred in the parking area of the Soewarna Warehouse at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on April 13, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m. local time.
Initially, PT Pungkook Indonesia One sent 4,749 Lululemon bags from Grobogan, Central Java, to Shanghai, China, via Garuda Indonesia cargo.
The goods were sent on April 10, 2026, and arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on April 13, 2026, before being scheduled to be flown using Garuda Indonesia GA 0894 flight on the Jakarta-Shanghai route on April 14, 2026.
However, on April 20, 2026, the company received a report from a customer in Shanghai that 108 bags were missing.
“As a result of this incident, the victim suffered a loss of IDR 213 million,” said Yandri.
From the investigation, it was found that 40 cartons out of a total of 512 cartons were deliberately set aside during the X-Ray inspection process.
“This case is a criminal act of theft and/or receiving stolen goods,” said Yandri.
The three suspects were finally arrested in the Karawaci area, Tangerang City, on April 29, 2026, at around 12:30 a.m. local time.
The police said that the syndicate had repeatedly carried out similar thefts since 2024 with a total company loss of more than IDR 1 billion.
For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 477 of the Criminal Code, paragraph g, regarding theft committed together, with a threat of nine years in prison.
The police also confiscated evidence in the form of export shipping documents, CCTV footage, flight manifest data, one unit of Avanza car, and one unit of Isuzu box truck.
