What Is Known So Far About the Search of the Ministry of Public Works by the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office

The office of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) was searched by investigators from the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati DKI). Several details are known regarding this search.

Minister of PU Dody Hanggodo commented on the search. Dody was unaware of the specific case linked to the search.

“Friends from the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office came and requested permission to conduct an in-depth investigation by entering several rooms. So, I just gave them permission,” Dody said in Jakarta, quoted by Antara on Thursday (9/4/2026).

He stated that the prosecutors had official assignment letters and search warrants when they arrived at the ministry office. Dody was not yet aware of further details about the case being investigated.

“They didn’t mention what the issue was. They just wanted to conduct an in-depth investigation, that’s all. I don’t know (more),” he explained.

He also conveyed that his side had granted permission and full access to the prosecutorial team to conduct the investigation within the ministry’s premises, including his own office.

“I gave permission; I even said that my room is open to them. And I have informed my security chief that if they (the officers) want to enter my room, they are welcome,” Dody said.

Rooms of Dirjen SDA to Dirjen Cipta Karya Searched

Meanwhile, the Head of Legal Information Section of Kejati DKI Jakarta, Dapot Dariarma, stated that the search at the Ministry of PU relates to the investigation process into alleged corruption in several activity items in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Two Director General (SDA) rooms were searched by the Kejati DKI team today.

“The search includes the working rooms of the Director General of Water Resources and the Director General of Public Works, related to the investigation of alleged criminal corruption in several activity items in the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year,” Dapot said, quoted by Antara on Thursday (9/4).

Related to Alleged Misuse of the State Budget

This investigation concerns the alleged misuse of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) in the construction of a pendopo in the ministry’s area. In its execution, the investigative team visited several locations suspected to be related to the case.

Dapot said that several pieces of evidence were secured during the search at the Ministry of PU Building today. The evidence includes documents to electronic evidence.

“From that activity, the investigators secured several items suspected to be relevant to the investigation process, including documents and electronic devices,” he said.

Minister’s Room Searched

Dody Hanggodo confirmed that his working room was searched by Kejati DKI investigators yesterday. He mentioned that the Deputy Minister (Wamen) of PU Diana Kusumastuti’s working room was also searched.

“Yes (both rooms were searched). Here’s the thing: I gave permission to the investigators to search all rooms in the Ministry of PU, because I am also very confident that the entire ranks in the Ministry of PU also want to show that they are all fine,” Dody said at the Ministry of PU Office, South Jakarta, on Friday (10/4).

Dody admitted to being surprised when the Ministry of PU and his room were searched. He claimed not to know the details of the case being pursued.

“I was also surprised because during our event yesterday, I was informed that friends from the prosecutor’s office came and wanted to conduct an in-depth investigation on several cases. I deliberately did not ask for more details because I consider it to be in the realm of law enforcement, so I don’t want to get too involved,” he said.

Audit Result Documents Seized

Dody said he requested permission from President Prabowo Subianto to grant access. He left the entire legal process to the investigators.

“They just asked for permission, and then I reported to Mr. President. And I said, ‘Mr. President, Sir, I request permission to give access to all investigators, to friends whoever, so that there is no impression of selectivity,’” he said.

Dody stated that the investigators seized audit result documents and other documents from his room. However, he said he forgot which audit documents were taken.

“Audit result documents that I kept in my place were taken. But the details I forgot because there are too many documents,” he said.
