What Indonesians Fear Most
A Pew Research Center report released in August 2025 surveyed people across 25 countries to identify the threats they fear most. Globally, the spread of false information online is seen as the top threat, cited by 72% of respondents, and ranks as the number one concern in countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and South Korea. The state of the global economy is the second most feared threat at 70%, followed by terrorism at 69%. For Indonesians, however, terrorism is the greatest concern, with 87% of respondents viewing it as a major threat. Indonesia is grouped with Nigeria, Kenya, and Turkey as nations with the highest levels of fear regarding terrorism worldwide.
