WFH Policy for Civil Servants: Ministry of Social Affairs Command Centre Continues Operations

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Command Centres of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) across Indonesia continue to operate amid the Work From Home (WFH) policy of one day per week for Civil Servants (ASN). Unlike the quiet atmosphere at the Kemensos office in Salemba, Central Jakarta, where employees are working from home, the Kemensos Command Centre in the Cawang building runs normally to provide services to the public. “This is certainly part of the new work culture transformation within the Ministry of Social Affairs, following the directives of President Prabowo,” said Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, in a press statement on Friday (10/4/2026). “In this WFH arrangement, it does not apply to areas that provide services to the public, Command Centres, Centres across Indonesia, and offices must still be able to serve the public,” Gus Ipul stated. To support the policy, Kemensos has also conducted efficiency trials, starting from saving on the use of official vehicles, using public transport or electric vehicles. Gus Ipul urged all Kemensos personnel to remain disciplined in filling out attendance and performance reports, which are daily tasks for every employee. “Carry out the assigned tasks well, and secondly, importantly, do not be negligent, be on call, and do not violate all the established provisions,” he said. “No corruption, and these days we are required to work more efficiently even though the services must remain excellent, and remember no corruption. Once again, remember no corruption, including time corruption,” said Gus Ipul. The Minister stressed that if Kemensos ASN are caught wandering around, they will face sanctions ranging from written warnings to dismissal. “I do not want any more dismissals, I do not want anyone whose salary is delayed, whose rank is demoted, or who receives written warnings 1 or 2. I want everyone to work well, with no violations,” he stated.
