Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Dwi Rio Sambodo, stated that services to the public must continue to operate optimally if a work-from-home (WFH) policy of once a week is implemented.

“Services to the public must continue to operate optimally without compromise,” said Rio in Jakarta on Friday.

According to him, for ASN tasked with public services such as hospitals, puskesmas, kelurahan, kecamatan, and licensing services, WFH cannot be applied uniformly.

Because, Rio said, services to the public must not be disrupted for any reason, considering that all benefits received by ASN come from taxes.

If the WFH policy for public services is still to be implemented, Rio said, it must be done in a hybrid and rotational manner, with clear mechanisms and based on measurable performance evaluations.

“Not just about attendance. Do not let the WFH scheme create workload imbalances among ASN,” he stated.

Rio added that Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD will ensure that the policy does not stop at populist discourse.

To that end, they will request realisation budget reports (LRA) related to fuel (BBM) and office operational expenditures, and ensure there is a clear legal umbrella.

“Whether in the form of a gubernatorial regulation or circular letter, which regulates the rights and obligations of ASN during WFH implementation,” he said.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated his readiness to follow central government directives regarding the implementation of the work-from-home or WFH policy.

“Whatever is decided, we will implement it,” he said.

The policy is planned to be implemented after Eid as a step to save energy amid rising global oil prices.

Nevertheless, Pramono mentioned that up to now, the policy has not been decided, so they have not taken a stance on its implementation.
