WFH for Civil Servants Every Friday: MenPANRB Mandates Regular Performance Evaluations for Agencies
Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini has mandated that every government agency conduct regular evaluations during the implementation of work from home (WFH) every Friday for civil servants (ASN). As reported from the official website of the Ministry of PANRB, Rini explained that the application of digital technology and information systems is key to supporting the effectiveness of WFH implementation, including aspects of attendance and performance reporting for ASN. “To ensure optimal implementation, every agency is required to conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of organizational performance achievements, energy efficiency, and the quality of public services,” Rini stated, as quoted from the official Ministry of PANRB website on Thursday (2/4/2026). Rini explained that further technical guidelines for ASN in regional government (pemda) environments will be established by Tito to ensure alignment between central and regional policy implementation. The government also ensures that public complaint channels remain open as a form of community participation in maintaining service quality. “Through this policy, we ensure that the transformation of government governance is not just a concept, but is implemented in the daily work patterns of ASN,” Rini said. The circular serves as a guide for ASN in ministries and agencies in implementing WFH every Friday. This adjustment also serves as a guide for government agencies in regulating the performance of official duties for ASN in a more flexible manner while prioritising organizational performance. “Through this policy, we encourage the performance of official duties that is more efficient, effective, adaptive, and digitally-based, thereby increasing ASN productivity and the quality of public services sustainably,” Rini stated. “Work flexibility must still align with performance targets. The main focus remains on outputs and outcomes, not on the work location,” Rini emphasised.
