A different atmosphere was observed at several major departure stations and integrated stations of the Jabodetabek Commuter Line on Friday (8/5/2026), particularly during the morning rush hour.

Passenger density was less crowded compared to usual working days following the introduction of the work-from-home (WFH) policy for some civil servants (ASN) in government agencies and companies.

“Major stations like Bogor, Bekasi, and Tangerang saw reduced density during the morning peak hour compared to other working days,” said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Karina Amanda in a written statement on Friday.

By 1 PM WIB, the number of Commuter Line passengers boarding across all Jabodetabek routes was recorded at 499,101 people.

“This figure indicates a 9 percent decrease compared to other working days,” Karina said.

At Bogor Station, the number of users was around 23,000 people, a 23 percent drop from a normal working day.

Meanwhile, Bekasi Station recorded more than 22,000 users, a 9 percent decline.

Sudimara Station had more than 11,000 users, down 14 percent, while Tangerang Station recorded more than 10,000 users, down 19 percent.

“Not only departure stations, but destination stations in office areas also experienced a decrease in the number of users,” Karina said.

Gondangdia Station dropped 21 percent to around 15,000 users, Juanda Station fell 8 percent to more than 14,000 users, and Tebet Station declined 7 percent to more than 18,000 users.

Although the number of users decreased, conditions inside the train carriages during the morning rush hour still appeared quite crowded.

KAI ensures that Commuter Line operations continue normally to serve the public who still need to travel outside the home.

“The travel schedule remains operated according to the applicable train travel schedule (Gapeka),” Karina said.

A total of 1,063 Commuter Line trips in Jabodetabek are still operated on this Friday to maintain service flexibility for public transport users.

KAI Commuter also urges the public to prioritise safety and follow the instructions of officers while in the station area or inside the train.
