WFH Every Friday: Koster Reminds ASN of Work Discipline
The Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov Bali) has issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 8 of 2025 on the Transformation of Civil Servants’ (ASN) Work Culture within the Pemprov Bali environment, which regulates the work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday.
In the circular, Bali Governor Wayan Koster reminds ASN of several matters during remote work. One of them is to maximise the use of Electronic-Based Government System services.
“Such as virtual offices, electronic signatures, electronic attendance, Personnel Management Information System, and other digital services,” said Koster, quoted from the SE on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
In addition, Koster requests that the implementation of meetings, technical guidance (bimtek), seminars, training (diklat), and other gatherings be prioritised in hybrid format.
“ASN are obliged to be responsive to communications both through communication media and virtual office applications,” he stressed.
Koster also emphasised that all ASN must report their daily work results to their respective regional device heads.
Not only that, ASN implementing WFH are asked to pay attention to the use of electronic devices in the workspace by turning them off as a form of energy efficiency.
Koster stated that the WFH policy does not apply to all ASN. High-ranking officials at Madya and Pratama levels must continue working from the office.
Furthermore, several units in the regional device organisations (OPD) such as BPBD, Satpol PP, Environmental Agency, up to the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (PMPTSP) also remain in the office.
Then, hospitals, tax and levy service UPTD, as well as other UPTD carrying out services continue to provide services from the office.
