The South Tangerang City Government (Tangsel) has enforced a work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants until Monday (30/3/2026). The Head of the Communication and Information Office of Tangsel City, Tubagus Asep Nurdin, stated that the City Government (Pemkot) Tangsel ensures services remain optimal despite the WFA implementation. According to him, this step is taken as a transitional strategy following the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 M holiday period.

“The Mayor (Tangsel’s Benyamin Davnie) wants civil servants to continue serving with heart, even if their bodies are still on the return journey or accompanying family at home. Warm services do not always have to be through face-to-face interactions, but through quick and thorough responses,” said Tubagus Asep Nurdin in his statement on Thursday (26/3/2026).

Asep explained that this policy is based on Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpres) No. 21 of 2023. This regulation views that office buildings are no longer the only place to serve in the digital era, as long as connections and responsibilities are maintained.

Asep guaranteed that the performance assessment of civil servants throughout the WFA period remains measurable according to work output. This is based on Ministry of PANRB Regulation No. 6 of 2022.

“Civil servants’ performance is calculated from output. So, if there is a stalled service, our system will immediately detect it. WFA actually trains civil servants to be more independent and responsible for work targets, not just fulfilling attendance obligations,” said Asep.
