Padang (ANTARA) – West Sumatra Province’s bureaucratic reform index reached 89.32 with an A- rating in 2025, improving on previous years. West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi stated on Saturday in Padang that the achievement was based on evaluations by the Ministry of Public Administration and Bureaucratic Reform regarding the 2025 bureaucratic reform implementation. ‘Based on evaluations by the Ministry of Public Administration and Bureaucratic Reform, West Sumatra Province achieved a bureaucratic reform index of 89.32 in 2025 with an A- rating,’ he said. He explained that the results were documented in Ministry of Public Administration and Bureaucratic Reform Letter No. B/318/RB.06/2026 concerning the 2025 bureaucratic reform evaluation. In 2023, the province’s bureaucratic reform index rose to 77.1 with a BB rating, then increased to 86.48 with an A- in 2024 before reaching 89.32 in 2025 with the same rating. According to Mahyeldi, the improvement demonstrates the regional government’s commitment to continuous bureaucratic reform. He added that bureaucratic reform is not solely focused on improving evaluation scores but also on delivering better public services, accountable governance, and responsiveness to community and business needs. ‘This improvement shows that bureaucratic reform in West Sumatra is proceeding continuously and becoming increasingly high-quality year on year,’ he said. Key indicators for 2025 included a legal reform index of 97.14, procurement governance index of 94.15, public service standard compliance at 91.65, digital archiving rate of 89.72, and public satisfaction survey of 85.53. West Sumatra Provincial Government will use these results to further strengthen effective, transparent, results-oriented governance and improve public service quality for residents.
