He added that the accident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety, expressing gratitude for his survival.
Iptu Rido, Head of Traffic Unit at the Solok Police, confirmed the single-vehicle accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday. He suggested the cause could have been driver distraction or fatigue. Rido explained that the accident occurred at a bend in Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. According to the officer, the police escort vehicle (PJR) successfully navigated the bend, but the vehicle carrying the Deputy Governor continued straight.
The incident was not formally reported to the Solok Police by the Deputy Governor’s party. The vehicle has since been evacuated from the scene via a towing service.
