West Pasaman Government Provides Maternity Waiting Homes for Pregnant Women

The West Pasaman Regency Government in West Sumatra has urged pregnant women to utilise the newly provided Maternity Waiting Home (RTK) located near the Jambak Regional General Hospital (RSUD). The facility is designed to accommodate expectant mothers, particularly those with high-risk pregnancies, who reside in remote areas, ensuring they are close to medical facilities as their due date approaches. According to the Head of the West Pasaman Health Office, Gina Alecia, the RTK aims to shorten travel distances and prevent births from occurring on the road or at home without medical assistance. The waiting home provides safe and comfortable lodging for the mother and one companion, complete with a kitchen, living room, cleaning equipment, and easy access to midwives or doctors. Priority will be given to high-risk cases if there are multiple patients, and residents can contact the local health office or community health centre to access the facility.
