West Papua Immigration and PT Conch Sign Cooperation Agreement to Optimise Services
Manokwari (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Immigration for West Papua has entered into a cooperation agreement with PT Conch Semen Papua to improve the delivery of immigration services at the immigration inspection post (TPI) at the company’s dedicated terminal.
The signing was held in the hall of the Class I TPI Manokwari Immigration Office on Wednesday, as part of efforts to reinforce the role of the Directorate General of Immigration as a facilitator of development.
Head of the West Papua Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Asrul, said collaboration between government and the business world is a strategic step towards creating a safe, orderly and conducive investment climate.
“Through this cooperation, we are not only carrying out our service and law enforcement functions, but also strengthening our role as a development facilitator by providing support for investment,” Asrul said.
He explained that the cooperation aims to ensure immigration inspections of people passing through PT Conch Semen Papua’s dedicated terminal are carried out effectively, in an orderly manner and in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
The regional office, through the Class I TPI Manokwari Immigration Office, will act as the technical implementing body, with duties covering travel document inspections, the granting of entry and exit permits for Indonesian territory in accordance with immigration authority, and supervision of people using the dedicated terminal.
Director of PT Conch Semen Papua, Peng Shaobin, expressed appreciation for the cooperation and affirmed the company’s commitment to continued coordination with immigration officials.
He said coordination would be carried out through periodic reporting and monitoring of foreign workers employed within PT Conch Semen Papua, in accordance with the prevailing immigration laws and regulations.
Peng Shaobin added that the cooperation is expected to strengthen coordination between the company and the Directorate General of Immigration, so that immigration services at the PT Conch Semen dedicated terminal run more effectively and orderly, providing certainty for all parties.
The cooperation is hoped to strengthen synergy between the West Papua Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, the Class I TPI Manokwari Immigration Office as the technical implementer, and PT Conch Semen Papua in supporting smooth investment and economic growth in West Papua.
