West Papua Immigration and PT Conch Sign Cooperation Agreement to Optimise Services
The Directorate General of Immigration for West Papua has established a cooperation agreement with PT Conch Semen Papua to improve the delivery of immigration services at the immigration checkpoint (TPI) within the company’s special terminal. The signing of the agreement took place at the Manokwari Class I TPI Immigration Office hall on Wednesday, as part of efforts to strengthen the role of the Directorate General of Immigration as a facilitator of development. Head of the West Papua Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Asrul, stated that collaboration between the government and the business sector is a strategic step to create a safe, orderly, and conducive investment climate. “Through this cooperation, we are not only carrying out service and law enforcement functions, but also strengthening our role as a facilitator of development by providing support for investment,” said Asrul. He explained that the cooperation aims to ensure that immigration inspection services for the movement of people at PT Conch Semen Papua’s special terminal are effective, orderly, and in accordance with laws and regulations. The Regional Office, through the Manokwari Class I TPI Immigration Office, will act as the technical executor, with duties including the inspection of travel documents, granting permission to enter and leave Indonesian territory according to immigration authority, and supervising the movement of people using the special terminal. Director of PT Conch Semen Papua, Peng Shaobin, expressed appreciation for the cooperation and affirmed the company’s commitment to continuously improving coordination with Immigration officials. He stated that this coordination would be carried out through periodic reporting and supervision of foreign workers employed within PT Conch Semen Papua, in compliance with immigration laws and regulations. Peng Shaobin added that the cooperation is expected to strengthen coordination between the company and the Directorate General of Immigration, so that the delivery of immigration services at the PT Conch Semen Special Terminal runs more effectively, orderly, and provides certainty for all parties. This cooperation is hoped to strengthen synergy between the West Papua Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, the Manokwari Class I TPI Immigration Office as the technical executor, and PT Conch Semen Papua in supporting smooth investment and economic growth in West Papua.
