West Lombok Regent Owns 55 Land Assets, But Only Reported 22 in LHKPN

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini, known as LAZ, owns 55 land and building assets, but many were not included in his State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN). Based on checks, only 24 land and building assets were reported by LAZ in the LHKPN for the 2026 reporting year. “Findings indicate a number of assets belonging to LAZ that have not been listed in his LHKPN, where it is suspected that LAZ owns at least 55 plots of land,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta, as quoted on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. According to him, LAZ should have reported all his assets in the LHKPN because reporting wealth is an important instrument in building transparency and accountability for state officials. “The obligation to fill in the LHKPN honestly, completely, and in accordance with actual conditions is an important prerequisite for all state officials, including regional heads and other stakeholders, to realise a clean government trusted by the public,” he said. Therefore, Budi said the KPK once again urges all regional heads and other stakeholders to be honest in filling in the LHKPN. “The KPK continuously urges regional heads, regional apparatus or agencies, and all other stakeholders to make integrity a pillar in carrying out governance that is transparent, accountable, and free from conflicts of interest, so that public office is truly carried out as a mandate to serve the people,” he said. Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation against West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini on 20 July 2026. The operation was the 17th carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. In the sting operation, the KPK arrested 20 people in West Nusa Tenggara and Jakarta, and brought eight of them to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta for intensive examination. On 21 July 2026, the KPK named Lalu Ahmad Zaini and President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (Perseroda) Sudirman as suspects in a case of alleged conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services. The anti-corruption body also named the two individuals along with President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument (MSI) Alvonsus Gani as suspects in an alleged bribery case within the West Lombok Regency Government.
