West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini Arrives at KPK Building After Sting Operation

West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday at 21:59 WIB after being caught in a sting operation (OTT). Lalu Ahmad was seen wearing a shirt, jacket, hat, and mask. However, he did not answer any questions from journalists who had been waiting for him since Monday afternoon. KPK Deputy Chairperson Fitroh Rohcahyanto previously confirmed the sting operation against Lalu Ahmad. During the operation, the KPK secured 19 individuals and brought seven of them to the KPK Red and White Building in Jakarta for further examination. As part of the investigation, the KPK also sealed the West Lombok Regent’s office and several other rooms within the West Lombok Regency Government. Additionally, the KPK confiscated hundreds of millions of rupiah in cash and a number of documents during the sting operation. In accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties arrested in the operation.
