The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted a sting operation (OTT) against the Regent of West Lombok, Lalu Ahmad Zaini. The KPK stated that Ahmad Zaini is suspected of receiving payments linked to various projects within the West Lombok district administration. “This case is suspected to involve the receipt of payments by the regent related to projects within the West Lombok district,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Monday (20/6/2026). A total of 19 individuals were detained in the operation. The KPK also seized evidence including cash and documents. “In addition to securing the parties involved, the team also secured evidence in the form of cash in rupiah denominations and several documents suspected to be related to the case,” he stated. The sting operation took place starting Monday morning. The Regent was arrested at his official residence, while other parties were detained at various locations across West Lombok. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested.
