West Lombok Regent Arrives at KPK Following Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has brought West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini in for questioning after he was caught in a sting operation (OTT). Lalu Ahmad arrived at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday evening (20/7/2026) at 21.59 WIB. He was seen wearing a blue shirt, a cap, and a mask. Lalu Ahmad made no statement upon his arrival and was immediately taken into the examination room. KPK Deputy Chairperson Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed the sting operation but did not provide details on other parties detained besides Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. A total of 19 people were detained in connection with payments received by the regent from projects in West Lombok. Those detained currently hold the status of individuals being examined, and the KPK has 1x24 hours to announce their official legal status.
