West Lombok PMI Blood Donor Unit Head Asked to Resign Over Dual Roles
The head of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Blood Donor Unit (UDD) in West Lombok, dr. Souvia Muthmainnah, has been asked to resign after allegedly holding positions at two institutions.
Besides serving as Head of the PMI UDD in West Lombok, Souvia is also recorded as a First-Rank Physician at the Kediri Community Health Centre (Puskesmas) under the West Lombok Health, Population Control and Family Planning Office (Dikes PPKB).
Following the dual-posting issue, the Head of the West Lombok Dikes PPKB, Erni Suryana, imposed a minor disciplinary punishment in the form of a written warning on Souvia through a letter dated 20 July 2026. The letter stated that Souvia had breached discipline by working at another institution without permission from her superior.
“Based on the results of monitoring and/or examinations carried out, you have been found to have committed a disciplinary violation in the form of: Working at Another Institution Without Permission from the Superior (Head of Dikes PPKB).”
“In connection with this matter, you are hereby given a Minor Disciplinary Punishment in the form of a Written Warning,” the letter stated.
Beyond issuing the warning, Erni also asked Souvia to relinquish her post as Head of the PMI UDD in West Lombok. The request was conveyed through another letter dated 24 July 2026.
“We hereby request that you promptly resign or no longer serve as Head of the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of PMI West Lombok Regency,” Erni wrote in her letter.
According to Erni, the request was made so that Souvia could focus on carrying out her duties as a civil servant (ASN) at the Kediri Community Health Centre.
On the same date, Erni also sent a letter to PMI West Lombok. In the letter, Dikes PPKB requested that PMI coordinate first whenever it intends to recruit health workers originating from West Lombok Regency.
The step was deemed necessary so that the employment status, placement and workload of prospective health workers could be confirmed in advance, thereby avoiding dual employment or assignments at more than one institution.
“Any recruitment of health workers by PMI West Lombok Regency originating from within West Lombok Regency should first be coordinated with the West Lombok Regency Health Office. Such coordination is necessary to obtain information regarding the employment status, placement and workload of prospective health workers to be recruited, so as to avoid a situation of dual employment (double job) or assignment at more than one institution,” Erni wrote.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PMI West Lombok, Haris Karnaen, was tight-lipped when asked about the letters. The Democratic Party politician, who is also a member of the West Lombok Regional Representative Council (DPRD), said the matter was still being resolved.
