West Lombok DPRD Urges Regent to Find Solution for 31 Laid-Off Temporary Staff
The West Lombok Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has urged Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ) to find a solution to save 31 temporary staff who have been laid off. The council considers these staff worthy of rescue, given that some of them have served the West Lombok Regency Government for a considerable period.
“We encourage and hope that the Regent will provide a solution. There must be a solution, after all, some of them have been serving for a long time,” said Muhali, Chair of Commission IV of the West Lombok DPRD, on Monday (15/6/2026).
In addition to seeking a solution for the temporary staff, Muhali also urged LAZ to evaluate the performance of the West Lombok Agency for Personnel and Human Resources Development (BKDPSDM). He stated that the data discrepancy which caused 31 people to fail to obtain a Civil Service Identification Number (NIP) for part-time PPPK was not the fault of the staff, but originated internally within the West Lombok BKDPSDM.
“This is an input error. Looking at the process, I am convinced the fault does not lie with the individuals. I believe the application files were complete, based on the usual practice of applicants,” said the Chair of the United Development Party (PPP) faction.
Muhali requested that LAZ trace the source of the problem and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the West Lombok BKDPSDM’s internal processes. He argued this step is crucial to prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future.
“The BKD must be evaluated; application files must not be treated carelessly. It could happen again in the future if no evaluation is carried out. They should be more meticulous, as people’s futures are at stake,” stressed the Chair of the PPP West Lombok Branch Executive Board.
Previously, the West Lombok Regency Government laid off 31 temporary staff who had been proposed to become part-time PPPK. The cause was that the participants’ data did not match the database of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), meaning their NIPs could not be issued.
