West Lombok Deputy Regent Questioned by KPK in Bribery Case
West Lombok Deputy Regent Nurul Adha has been questioned by investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The examination is strongly suspected to be linked to the case of the inactive West Lombok Regent, Lalu Ahmad Zaini, who was caught in a sting operation by the KPK some time ago.
Nurul Adha underwent the questioning at the office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) for West Nusa Tenggara on Thursday (13/8/2026). The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician nodded when asked by journalists about his attendance regarding the investigation into the case ensnaring LAZ. ‘Just the usual, being asked for information,’ Nurul Adha said briefly as he walked away.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo has not yet responded to requests for confirmation regarding the examination of Nurul Adha. The Head of General Affairs for the BPKP NTB Representative Office, Temmy Pratama, confirmed the loan of a room to the KPK but declined to comment on the substance of the investigation. ‘What we can inform you is that last week a letter came in from the KPK regarding the room loan. We plan to provide it until Wednesday next week,’ Temmy stated, adding that the BPKP was not informed about the details of the witness examination.
The KPK previously conducted a sting operation against LAZ at his official residence on Monday (20/7). A total of 19 people were detained during the operation, though investigators ultimately named three suspects: LAZ, the President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang Sudirman, and the President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument Alvonsus Gani. LAZ is suspected of accepting bribes related to several projects in West Lombok and of having a conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services. In the case construction, LAZ allegedly ordered the Head of the West Lombok Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, Lalu Ratnawi, to assist Sudirman in obtaining government projects. Sudirman then allegedly used CV Dyas Karya Konstruksi as a project pool by borrowing the names of other companies to ensure the firm was not recorded as the winning bidder. The KPK suspects that tender requirements were rigged so that companies used by Sudirman would win projects worth Rp 17.9 billion through both tenders and direct appointments. These projects included the rehabilitation of Gerung City Park in 2025, valued at Rp 2.3 billion, and a second phase of rehabilitation in 2026, valued at Rp 4.3 billion, making the Giri Menang City Park one of the projects included in the KPK’s case construction.
