The West Lampung Regency Government is encouraging youth communities to take part in the development of coffee downstreaming to increase the added value of the region’s flagship commodity whilst strengthening the local economy. The invitation was delivered by Parosil Mabsus during the Collaboration Anniversary of Slankers West Lampung, Super Moto West Lampung, and Pasukan Vixion West Lampung at the Coffee School in Sukajaya Village, Sumber Jaya District. “We have extraordinary coffee. Our elders have excelled in the upstream sector. Now our homework is downstreaming, how this coffee can have added value. Even if you do not own a plantation, we can still take part by processing and utilising coffee so that its selling value increases,” said Parosil. He also expressed hope that the Slankers West Lampung community would continue to grow into one of the largest communities in the region. He noted that the anniversary momentum should be used as a space for evaluation and for designing programmes that provide tangible benefits to the community. “Discuss what can be done for the organisation and what can be given to West Lampung Regency so that it becomes more widely known and remains a safe and conducive area,” he said. He assessed that music and automotive communities have a strategic role in shaping the character of the younger generation. Music can serve as a medium for spreading positive messages, whilst motor communities can become pioneers in traffic safety, social awareness, and the promotion of tourist destinations and regional superior products. He also reminded members of the importance of obeying traffic regulations by completing vehicle documents, paying taxes on time, and wearing helmets for safety. He therefore hopes that the collaboration of the three communities will not stop at the anniversary commemoration but will continue to be realised through concrete actions such as social activities, environmental service, traffic safety campaigns, and the promotion of West Lampung’s tourism potential and coffee.
