West Java’s Interfaith Harmony Index (IKUB) for 2025 falls into the high category with a score of 79.43. This condition illustrates tolerant, equal, and mutually cooperative relations among religious adherents in community life.

Head of the West Java Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Dedi Mulyadi, stated that the IKUB serves as a mirror of the local government’s success in mitigating social conflicts motivated by religion.

Stable harmony creates a sense of security for investors and economic actors to operate in West Java. The IKUB score for West Java Province is above the national average achievement of 77.89.

The success of West Java Province’s IKUB achievement in 2025 is inseparable from various social factors, institutional development, interfaith activities, and government policies that encourage the creation of interfaith harmony, including the high level of tolerance among religious communities in West Java.

“Social relations in the community are relatively harmonious and mutually respectful in carrying out worship. Large-scale religious conflicts are considered minimal,” said Dedi on Saturday (28/3/2026).

The existence of the Forum for Interfaith Harmony (FKUB) at the provincial and regency/city levels also plays an important role in maintaining social stability. Social interactions among communities of various religions further strengthen the dimension of togetherness in the IKUB.

Another supporting factor is the West Java Provincial Government’s policies in promoting various programmes that strengthen social harmony.
