West Java's Human Development Index Rises to 75.90 in 2025, Dedi Mulyadi's Leadership Praised

The Human Development Index (IPM) for West Java reached 75.90 in 2025, recording a growth of 1.31 per cent and marking the highest increase in the past five years. According to data from the West Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the improvement was supported by advances across all constituent components, including health, education, and a decent standard of living. Life expectancy rose to 75.53 years, an increase of 0.37 years from the previous year. In education, the expected years of schooling reached 13.02 years, while the mean years of schooling increased to 9.14 years. On the economic front, real per capita expenditure reached Rp 12.45 million per year, growing by 2.39 per cent compared to 2024. This increase was accompanied by a reduction in poverty, with the number of poor people in West Java decreasing by 193,920 and the poverty rate falling by 0.44 percentage points. Iwan Koswara, a member of the West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Commission V from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), expressed his appreciation for this achievement. He stated that the rise in the IPM demonstrates that development is having a tangible impact on the quality of life, extending beyond infrastructure to education, health, and welfare. He attributed the success to the policy direction of Governor Kang Dedi Mulyadi, which focuses on bringing development closer to the needs of the people. Iwan noted that under Dedi Mulyadi’s leadership, the regional government has shown courage in accelerating programmes that directly benefit the community. He expressed hope that this achievement would serve as momentum to further strengthen the education and health sectors as well as public purchasing power, adding that the target of entering the top ten in the IPM rankings is realistic with consistency, collaboration, and sustainable programmes.
