West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman held an audience with the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta on Friday, 25 July 2025.

Herman Suryatman and his West Java Provincial Government delegation were received by Deputy for Investment Climate Development Riyanto and Deputy for Investment Information Technology Ricky Kusmayadi.

Herman outlined that the broad topic of the meeting concerned the utilisation of data to accelerate various development sectors in West Java. This encompasses data integration on West Java's digital platform relating to investment, downstreaming, the business sector and employment, including improvements to the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, Business Identification Numbers (NIB), and other related aspects.

Through data exchange interoperability, policymakers can analyse the business landscape to achieve a balance between West Java's already favourable investment climate and its labour absorption rates. This would enable the government to reduce or even close the gaps causing low labour uptake. For instance, if jobseekers require specific skills, the West Java Provincial Government can prepare them through training programmes.

The utilisation of data in the business licensing sector is also beneficial for sustainable development, particularly in the long term. This applies to business sectors such as mining and tourism that rely on natural resources.

"We discussed how we can optimise and analyse existing data for decision-making across various sectors, specifically to boost investment," Herman said.
