West Java Regional Police to Conduct Two-Week Crackdown: 11 Target Violations Identified

The West Java Regional Police, in collaboration with local police reserves, will conduct the ‘Operasi Patuh Lodaya 2026’ crackdown from 8 June to 21 June. Enforcement will be carried out using Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) and non-ETLE manual summons.

Director of Traffic for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Raydian Kokroserono, stated that the 14-day operation will prioritise persuasive and humanistic approaches. Enforcement against violators will consist of 60 per cent ETLE, 30 per cent non-ETLE summons, and 10 per cent verbal warnings.

‘The objective of Operasi Patuh Lodaya is to reduce accident rates, traffic violations, and prevent fatalities,’ he said on Sunday (7/6/2026).

He noted that ETLE enforcement will target car drivers not wearing seatbelts, those using mobile phones, and those violating road markings or traffic signs. Other targets include running red lights, speeding, driving against the flow of traffic, and not wearing helmets.

Additionally, the operation will target riding with more passengers than permitted, using non-standard number plates, illegal parking, and encroaching into fast lanes. Non-ETLE enforcement will focus on driving against the flow, vehicles with incorrect registration numbers, non-standard specifications, and the use of illegal loud exhausts (knalpot brong).

‘Enforcement is intended to create a deterrent effect, uphold discipline, and enforce the law on the highways, thereby reducing traffic violations,’ he added.

He further mentioned that the police are optimising law enforcement through ETLE to ensure the process is more transparent, accountable, and objective, while minimising direct contact between officers and the public.
