The West Java Islamic Propagation Centre (PUSDAI) inaugurated the Sodik Mudjahid Pavilion as a form of appreciation for the record of service that has shaped the institution’s development at the PUSDAI complex in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.

The inauguration of the new facility, which immortalises the name of the Chairman of the National Amil and Zakat Agency (BAZNAS RI), was also held in conjunction with the inauguration of the Miftah Pavilion to appreciate the contribution of the Bandung Muslim scholar and intellectual, Miftah Faridl, in laying the foundation for the establishment of PUSDAI West Java.

Chairman of BAZNAS RI Dr. Ir. H. Sodik Mudjahid, M.Sc. said that PUSDAI West Java was designed from the outset to strengthen the role of a professional Islamic institution with a broad impact on society.

“PUSDAI was built with four main functions: as a facilitator, coordinator, dynamist, and innovator of the ummah’s movement. The combination of the maturity of the seniors and the professional spirit of the young people is the key to advancing this institution,” said Sodik Mudjahid in his remarks at the event.

According to him, the progress of PUSDAI West Java in its early days could not be separated from the combination of knowledge and scholarship of senior figures such as Miftah Faridl and the professional spirit of the young people, which were combined to drive the development of the Islamic institution.

“Well, hopefully now there is also a formidable duo of PUSDAI administrators, the duo of Jujun and Ijang. Hopefully PUSDAI will be more advanced in the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. K.H. Miftah Faridl expressed his emotion and humility at the honour given, while recalling the hard work of the first generation of administrators in building the Islamic institution.

He also advised the younger generation to continue to maintain their commitment to the propagation of Islam and service to the nation, and to view ijtihad (independent reasoning) in various fields as a means of attaining Allah’s pleasure.

“Whether inside or outside PUSDAI, let us make it great because this is a legacy from the elders and officials in West Java,” said Miftah Faridl.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the PUSDAI West Java Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) Dr. K.H. Jujun Junaedi, M.A. said that the naming of the two facilities was a form of respect for the track record, scholarship, and example of the institution’s founders.

“We inscribe the names of great people in the pavilion so that future generations will see and learn about the history of the struggle and existence of these two figures,” said Jujun.

The event was also attended by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province Dr. Drs. Herman Suryatman, M.Si., the Mayor of Bandung H. Muhammad Farhan, S.E., and the Chairman of the West Java Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Dr. Buky Wibawa Karya Guna, M.Si.
