West Java Provincial Government to Take Over Implementation of 2026 West Java MTQ

The West Java Provincial Government will take over the implementation of the 2026 West Java MTQ after the Garut Regency Government withdrew as the host of the event.

The Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, stated that the provincial government understands the limited regional budget (APBD) conditions in Garut, which prevented them from hosting the 2026 MTQ. Consequently, the provincial government has decided to host the 2026 West Java MTQ, which will now take place in January 2027.

“The host will be the West Java Provincial Government directly. The opening will be held at the Gedung Sate courtyard, and the closing at the Al Jabbar Mosque,” he explained on Sunday (2/8).

The Governor expressed his hope that the MTQ proceedings will be conducted with integrity, particularly during the judging stage, as the event serves as a momentum to spread Islamic teachings and impart the values of the Al-Quran. Dedi also extended his gratitude to all parties who have shown interest in the organisation of the West Java MTQ.
