West Java Provincial Government to Send Feed for Animals at Bandung Zoo
Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi has assured that food will be sent for the animals at Bandung Zoo. There must be no more animal deaths, following the demise of two tiger cubs last week.
“I have asked the West Java Secretary to mobilise veterinarians to Bandung Zoo to check needs and the feed that must be fulfilled. After that, starting tomorrow, the West Java Provincial Government will send feed for the zoo,” stated KDM on Monday (30/3).
This determination was expressed by KDM in front of the Chairman of the West Java DPRD, Buky Wibawa, and the Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD, Ono Surono.
According to KDM, the Provincial Government and DPRD of West Java have failed by allowing the deaths of the two tiger cubs at Bandung Zoo.
“I admit my authority is not there. But this must be resolved,” he emphasised.
He assessed that the animal deaths occurred due to prolonged disputes over management at Bandung Zoo. “They are driven by animalistic instincts, thus fighting over management,” added KDM.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD Ono Surono stated that the animals at Bandung Zoo must be saved.
“West Java will have an animal hospital in the future. We urge its doctors to be present and routinely check the health of animals at Bandung Zoo,” he asserted.
Chairman of the West Java DPRD Buky Wibawa added that the Provincial Government and DPRD of West Java must work together to save the animals at Bandung Zoo and pay attention to the welfare of its employees.
