West Java Provincial Government Strengthens Public Literacy with Mobile Library at Gasibu Square

The West Java Provincial Government, through the Regional Library and Archives Service, has introduced a mobile library service at Gasibu Square in Bandung. The initiative is designed to enhance public literacy by bringing books closer to the community, especially families and children who frequent the area for recreation. The Head of the West Java Library and Archives Service stated that the mobile library is part of a broader effort to instil a love of reading from an early age and to make knowledge more accessible to all levels of society. The service operates on weekends and public holidays, offering a diverse collection of books ranging from children’s stories to general knowledge. Officials hope that by integrating reading facilities into popular public spaces, they can encourage more residents to utilise library services and improve the region’s overall literacy index.
