West Java Provincial Government Shuts Down PT Mas Putih Belitung Mining Operations

The West Java Provincial Government has closed the operations of PT Mas Putih Belitung, a company managing a mine in Tamansari Village, Pangkalan District, Karawang Regency.

The closure was marked by the installation of Satpol PP (Public Order Agency) lines at the mine’s entrance gate by the West Java Regional Secretary, Herman Suryatman, accompanied by the Head of the West Java Satpol PP and representatives from the Karawang Regency Government on Tuesday (15/09/2026). Herman stated that the authorities had repeatedly reminded the company to fulfil several requirements to allow its mining business to continue. However, even after the third warning, the company has failed to comply.

“The West Java Provincial Government has sent warnings three times: in May 2025, May 2026, and most recently in August 2026. There are various items that must be fulfilled and completed for this mining business to proceed. But the fact is, upon our inspection today, we found that they have not been met; many items remain incomplete,” he explained.

Herman emphasised that no mining activities are permitted until all requirements are fulfilled, including those concerning social issues.

The raw materials mined by PT Mas Putih Belitung are supplied to PT Jui Shin Indonesia. The mining operations utilise a 10-kilometre stretch of provincial road, specifically the Badami-Loji section. Every day, dozens of trucks with a 30-tonne capacity pass through, causing significant damage to the road.

“As a consequence of this mining exploration using provincial roads, the road is now in a damaged condition,” said Herman.
