The West Java Provincial Government is continuing to strengthen its commitment to being closer to the public through programmes that deliver tangible benefits and improve residents’ welfare. One such initiative is the Poe Ibu Programme, a collective-contribution movement among civil servants in the West Java Provincial Government that encourages care, solidarity and mutual cooperation in helping the community.

This commitment was put into practice through the Abdi Nagri Ngaprak Lembur #2 event in Kaso Village, Tambaksari District, Ciamis Regency, focusing on repairs to uninhabitable houses. The initiative is a tangible example of the government’s presence in the community, particularly in helping residents secure homes that are more decent, safe and comfortable.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that 39 houses were targeted for assistance: 30 belonging to people living in poverty or on low incomes, and nine affected by a ground-shift disaster. The programme is expected to improve residents’ quality of life while helping restore homes damaged by the disaster.

As part of the programme, renovations have been carried out on one house belonging to Mr Teddy. The first phase is planned to cover a further 11 homes in need of repairs, with support from a range of partners.

Of those 11 homes, three will be handled by the West Java Regional Scout Council, while the other eight will receive support from regional agencies within the provincial government. Two homes will be rebuilt independently by the Regional Revenue Agency and the West Java Provincial Education Office, one each. The remaining six will be handled through collaboration among several regional agencies.

Funding for the first phase of repairs to uninhabitable homes comes from the West Java Provincial Government civil servants’ collective-contribution movement under the Poe Ibu Programme. “This spirit of contributing together embodies our shared concern: efforts to improve people’s welfare are not solely the responsibility of the government as an institution, but also a collective movement involving all elements of the civil service,” Dedi said on Wednesday (14 October 2026).

The Abdi Nagri Ngaprak Lembur #2 initiative also involves collaboration between the West Java Provincial Government, the West Java Regional Scout Council and Jamkrida. This cross-sector partnership is expected to extend the programme’s benefits and encourage participation from a range of groups in community development and empowerment.

Through the initiative, the West Java Provincial Government has emphasised that development is not only about infrastructure and administrative achievements, but also about making a tangible difference to people’s lives. Repairing residents’ homes is one practical step towards creating more decent living environments while strengthening mutual cooperation and social solidarity.

Through Poe Ibu, the civil servants’ spirit of contributing together is expected to grow into a sustained movement for good. Under the Abdi Nagri Ngaprak Lembur initiative, the West Java Provincial Government is seeking to ensure that its presence is genuinely felt by residents, even at village level, in line with its commitment to building a more prosperous, inclusive and empowered West Java.
