The six high-value projects comprise the development of Kertajati Aerospace Park, the construction of the Bandung Raya LRT, renewable energy projects, industrial estates, creative economy development and vocational education.

Bandung (ANTARA) — The West Java provincial government has offered six strategic projects to investors from Malaysia and other ASEAN nations at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) ASEAN 2026, held in Bandung on 9–10 July 2026.

West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan said all of the projects were being promoted as flagship investment opportunities to drive the province’s economic growth.

“I am confident this event can further strengthen the good cooperation between the Selangor government and the West Java provincial government,” Erwan said in Bandung on Thursday.

Erwan said the six high-value projects comprise the development of Kertajati Aerospace Park, the construction of the Bandung Raya LRT, renewable energy projects, industrial estates, creative economy development and vocational education.

“I hope these meetings and activities will not merely be ceremonial, but must be sustained and promptly followed up, both by businesses in West Java and those from Selangor,” he said.

Erwan noted that economic ties between West Java and Malaysia continue to show a positive trend. Over the past five years, realised Malaysian investment in West Java has reached around Rp47 trillion, making Malaysia one of the province’s largest investors.

Beyond investment, Malaysia is also one of West Java’s key trading partners, ranking among the top ten export destinations for the province, with a trade surplus of US$1.1 billion.

He added that Malaysia’s contribution is also evident in the tourism sector, accounting for roughly 12.5 per cent of total foreign tourist visits to West Java.

“This underscores the close trade relationship between Malaysia and West Java, particularly with Selangor,” Erwan said.

Meanwhile, Dedi Taufik, head of the West Java Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), explained that the projects on offer span the aerospace, industrial estate, transport, energy, creative economy and vocational education sectors.

“Through SIBS ASEAN 2026, West Java is presenting strategic investment opportunities in priority sectors with high growth prospects that are ready to be developed together with international partners,” Dedi said.

Dedi expressed hope that, through the staging of SIBS ASEAN 2026, the West Java provincial government can open up broader avenues of cooperation whilst attracting new investment to support economic growth and job creation in the province.
