The Head of the West Java Civil Works and Spatial Planning Office (DBMPR), Agung Wahyudi, has stated that the percentage of provincial roads in good condition has reached 91.68 per cent, covering 2,362.183 kilometres.

“Road repairs for potholes are currently underway. We guarantee there will be no more potholes during the Lebaran exodus,” Agung said in Bandung on Friday.

In addition to achieving its pothole-free target, the West Java Provincial Government is placing special emphasis on technical risks along exodus routes by deploying 19 Disaster Relief Unit (DRU) points. These units function as a frontline force to anticipate sudden damage and natural disasters on heavily travelled routes.

Agung explained that DRU operations will be directly overseen by the Bima Sakti Quick Response Unit (URC) team. This team is equipped to respond swiftly to road damage in urban areas, accident-prone locations, and areas reported by the public as requiring urgent attention.

“The team is equipped with various equipment, including 20 mini excavators, 56 dump trucks, 6 Bailey bridges, 40 pick-up trucks, 6 wheel loaders, and 81 compactors,” he said.

The 19 heavy equipment points are strategically distributed across Bogor, Bekasi, Cianjur, Sukabumi, Purwakarta, Subang, Garut, Bandung, Indramayu, Cirebon, Majalengka, Kuningan, and Tasikmalaya.

Beyond road infrastructure, traveller services have also been strengthened through the provision of 60 Lebaran 2026 Rest Posts distributed across six District Technical Implementation Units (UPTD). These posts are designed as one-stop service facilities for travellers undertaking long journeys.

In addition to providing rest areas, drinking water, and toilet facilities, staff at the posts will supply crucial information regarding alternative routes, disaster-prone areas, and current traffic congestion mapping.

“With these preparations, disasters during travel for the exodus can be minimised,” Agung said.
