West Java Provincial Government Continues Clearing Illegal Buildings on Ciater Subang-Bandung Tourist Route

The clearing of illegal buildings along the Gunung Malang tourist route in Ciater, Subang Regency and West Bandung Regency continued on Saturday (5/9/2026), in accordance with the instruction of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi. The measure is being carried out as part of efforts to reorganise and regreen the West Java provincial route.

The operation was conducted by a joint team comprising Satpol PP, several regional agencies, and PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) I Regional 2. The clearing and regreening of the West Java provincial route is also intended to secure state-owned enterprise assets on HGU land.

Acting Head of Human Resources and Secretariat of PTPN I Regional 2, Dedi Kusramdani, said that PTPN and the West Java Provincial Government had first carried out socialisation with the owners of illegal buildings, asking them to vacate and dismantle the structures independently. The company had issued notices and warnings to the owners of illegal buildings since 2025, from the first, second, and third warning letters up to August 2026.

He stated that the current clearing of illegal buildings is a follow-up to the enforcement carried out in 2025. “Before reaching today’s enforcement activity, PTPN I Regional 2 has sought to prioritise a persuasive, gradual, orderly, and humane approach,” he said on Saturday (5/9/2026).

Owners of illegal buildings had also been given time and opportunity to vacate the premises independently. The enforcement is part of the area restructuring carried out together with the West Java Provincial Government.

“We hope the activity is carried out safely, in an orderly manner, and does not cause any undesirable outcomes,” he said.
