Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - The West Java Provincial Government has completed repairs on the Parung Panjang to Bunar road section in Cigudeg Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, covering 15.1 kilometres of a total 28.04 kilometres, with a budget allocation reaching Rp142 billion.

Kosasih, Secretary of the West Java Highways and Spatial Planning Agency (DBMPR), said in Bandung on Tuesday that repair works on the damage-prone route were carried out in phases from 2024 to 2026.

Road management in the area has drawn attention because access roads were previously severely damaged by mining transport trucks exceeding capacity limits (over dimension over load/ODOL), frequently triggering traffic accidents.

To safeguard the durability of the repaired road construction, the West Java Provincial Government installed four-metre-high barrier gates at three strategic points to prevent mining trucks from passing through.

The three barrier locations are situated along the Jakarta road section at kilometre 55, kilometre 64, and kilometre 79.

Beyond physical interventions, control measures are also being enforced through traffic route monitoring.

Dhani Gumelar, Head of the West Java Transportation Agency (Dishub), said personnel are on intensive standby to ensure no mining transport trucks breach the areas of Parung Panjang, Rumpin, and Cigudeg Subdistricts.

“Dishub is on 24-hour duty to monitor mining transport activities,” said Dhani.

Dhani emphasised that the prohibition on mining transport fleets passing through the three subdistricts is based on a West Java Governor’s regulation that remains legally binding.

He reminded mining business operators that Governor Circular Letter Number 7920/ES.09/PEREK dated 25 September 2025 concerning the temporary cessation of all mining activities in Parung Panjang, Rumpin, and Cigudeg Subdistricts remains in effect.

These firm measures form part of the West Java Provincial Government’s efforts to restructure mining governance in the Parung Panjang area and its surroundings.
