The West Java Provincial Government has prepared Rp 1 billion for the medical treatment of Yuvita Tri Rezeki, a victim of abuse and false imprisonment allegedly perpetrated by Taufik Hidayat. The victim is currently receiving care at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung. The provincial government is also providing assistance for the family members accompanying the victim during treatment.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the alleged abuse and confinement constituted a systematic crime that exceeded the boundaries of humanity. Consequently, all medical and care expenses for the victim will be covered until she recovers.

“Based on the financial records I have today, around Rp 1 billion is needed for the next two weeks, and we have prepared it. There is no need to seek donations elsewhere,” Dedi said at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters on Friday.

He added that members of the public who wish to donate are welcome to help with the family’s needs. The provincial government will also cover the operational costs for the victim’s family members who have had to stop working to accompany her during treatment. Dedi also noted that a reward of Rp 250 million would be handed over to the West Java Regional Police.

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said the alleged abuse and false imprisonment of Yuvita lasted for two years, from May 2024 to June 2026. The victim is believed to have suffered various forms of violence, including being beaten with bare hands, struck with a helmet, and attacked with a sharp object.

“During the period from May 2024 to June 2026 in the Bandung area, severe abuse occurred. The perpetrator committed violence by burning the victim’s body with a cigarette, punching her head with bare hands, repeatedly hitting her face, head, mouth, and ears with a helmet, striking her with a small table, and using a pistol-shaped lighter, resulting in serious injuries to the victim,” Rudi said during a press conference at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters.

Furthermore, the perpetrator allegedly confined the victim by locking her in a room and leaving her in a helpless state. Rudi said the victim and the perpetrator met through the Tinder application in 2024. “They got acquainted, felt close, then entered into a relationship and lived together in a boarding house. During the relationship, they moved residences several times from May 2024 to June 2026,” he said.

He stated that there were four locations where the victim and perpetrator lived, and crime scene investigations have been conducted at all of them. The first location was in the Cicaheum area of Bandung, where they lived from 15 May to 15 September 2024. “Based on statements from several witnesses, including the victim, and the suspect’s confession, the victim experienced violence in the form of beatings and cigarette burns at this location,” Rudi said.
