West Java Provincial Government Accelerates Legok Nangka Waste Processing Plant Construction in Indramayu
The West Java Provincial Government, in collaboration with PT Jabar Environmental Solutions (PT JES), has officially entered into a partnership for the construction of the Legok Nangka Regional Waste Processing and Final Disposal Site (TPPAS). This cooperation was formalised through the signing of the Amendment and Restatement of the Cooperation Agreement for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project for the Legok Nangka Regional TPPAS.
This strategic move marks a new chapter and strengthens the commitment of both parties to accelerate the realisation of waste management infrastructure based on modern, environmentally friendly technology in West Java. The signing ceremony was conducted by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, acting as the Project Co-operation Authority (PJPK), and Kenichi Ishikawa, Director of PT JES, in Indramayu Regency.
The agenda also included the signing of a Guarantee Agreement between PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PT PII) and PT JES, alongside the handover of a Regress Agreement from the West Java Provincial Government to PT PII. This amendment and restatement of the cooperation agreement was carried out to accommodate several technical, financial, and regulatory adjustments to ensure the project remains accountable, efficient, and sustainable.
The Legok Nangka Regional TPPAS is projected to be capable of processing waste from the Greater Bandung metropolitan area (Bandung City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency, and Cimahi City), Garut Regency, and Sumedang Regency. It features a capacity of up to 2,131 tonnes per day using Waste-to-Energy (WtE) technology, also known as Waste-to-Electricity Processing (PSEL).
Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the Legok Nangka TPPAS is expected to serve as a long-term solution for regional waste management. βThe Legok Nangka Regional TPPAS will reduce dependence on landfill facilities that have reached their capacity limits,β the Governor said in a statement on Monday (8/6/2026).
Following the signing of this agreement, the next stage involves achieving financial close, which is targeted for completion by the end of 2026, followed by the acceleration of physical construction on-site.
