West Java Province Targets 100 Percent of Roads in Good Condition by 2026
The West Java Provincial Government is targeting 90 percent of the province’s total roads to be in good condition by the end of 2026. Governor Dedi Mulyadi expressed hope that the target could reach 100 percent by year-end, committing to improving all provincial road infrastructure in West Java during 2026.
Mulyadi apologized to the public for the current state of some provincial roads with potholes, but assured that the provincial government is committed to ensuring at least 90 percent of provincial roads are in good condition this year. “We want 100 percent to be passable comfortably,” he stated.
Specifically, Dedi identified Cibarusah in Bekasi Regency as one area that will receive a relatively large budget allocation for road improvements this year. He confirmed that the provincial government has allocated significant funds to improve infrastructure quality in that region.
The Governor also reminded the public to be more careful when reporting road conditions on social media, specifically about clearly stating the road’s status—whether it is a village road, regency road, provincial road, or national road. According to him, clarity on jurisdictional status is important so that repairs can be handled by the responsible government at the appropriate level.
