The West Java Provincial Government is implementing the Small and Medium Industry (IKM) Incubation Programme 2026 in collaboration with academic institutions. The programme aims to strengthen the readiness of West Java’s IKM so they can compete in both national and global markets.

Nining Yuliastiani, Head of the West Java Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), stated that 200 selected IKM will participate in the 2026 IKM Incubation Programme.

During the incubation period, participants will receive intensive mentoring for three months. Various facilities have been prepared, ranging from business health diagnostics, management mentoring classes covering business management, marketing, and branding, to the preparation of pitching decks.

Participants will also receive exclusive training from business practitioners and academics from the Science Techno Park (STP) of the Directorate of Innovation and High-Impact Research at the University of Indonesia (UI). Additionally, certification facilitation is available for certifications such as Halal, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for trademarks, or Domestic Component Level (TKDN) for participants who require them.

The 2026 IKM Incubation Programme began with a webinar held online on Thursday, 25 February 2026. The event featured Head of Disperindag Jabar Nining Yuliastiani, CEO of PT Sainsgo Karya Indonesia (Maskit) Yolla Miranda, and STP UI Director Chairul Hudaya as speakers. Participants in this event included IKM operators throughout West Java, associations, and representatives from district/city Disperindag offices in West Java.

In her presentation, Nining highlighted several challenges still faced by West Java’s IKM, ranging from capacity gaps and quality standards deficiencies, limited resources, to low competitiveness against imported products.

“We want West Java’s IKM not only to survive, but to improve their standing and be able to access wider markets. Through cooperation with STP UI, we hope IKM can be facilitated in a more structured manner, both in terms of standardisation, certification, and export readiness,” Nining said in a written statement on Monday, 2 March 2026.

According to her, the West Java Provincial Government has consistently provided standardisation facilitation every year, through both regional and central government support.

She added that the 2026 IKM Incubation Programme will strengthen the managerial capacity of IKM operators to become more modern and adaptive, including through the implementation of financial digitalisation. Additionally, the programme also creates opportunities for IKM to access investors to support their business development.

For IKM operators interested in participating, registration is open online via the link https://bit.ly/LinkPendaftaranIKMIstimewa from 26 February to 17 March 2026.
