West Java Police's Social Initiatives Bring Smiles to West Bandung Residents

Annisa (37), a resident of Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), West Java, was overjoyed after receiving a series of free health examinations and contraceptive device insertion on Tuesday (23/6/2026). Upon leaving, she also received a large box containing a package of basic necessities distributed during a social service event commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Bhayangkara. For the West Java Regional Police’s jurisdiction, the event was centred in Pasirlangu Village, which is in the process of recovering after being hit by a landslide last January. ‘Alhamdulillah, I could get a free health check-up, and my child’s health was checked too. I had a full health screening and also got a contraceptive device fitted,’ said Annisa at the location. She noted that the package she received was very helpful amidst the steadily rising commodity prices in the market over recent weeks. She was also able to learn about her health condition through the free examination. ‘It is certainly very helpful, it can reduce expenses, especially now that prices are rising. Plus, there is a free health check-up, alhamdulillah,’ Annisa said. Meanwhile, West Java Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, stated that around 2,000 residents of Pasirlangu Village utilised the free health services, mass circumcision, and the distribution of wheelchairs, hearing aids, and walking sticks. ‘This is our form of service to the community, by providing wheelchairs, hearing aids, and earlier I saw children crying after the mass circumcision. Examinations were conducted by specialist doctors, including dental specialists, eye specialists, pulmonologists, and several other specialists we prepared for today,’ Rudi said. Additionally, his party distributed priority cards for labourers to obtain medical services at Bhayangkara Hospital. However, when using the card, a BPJS card must also be attached. ‘So our labourer friends will be served at the Polri Bhayangkara Hospital, we have distributed them as directed by the National Police Chief. But they still must have a BPJS card,’ Rudi stated.
