West Java Police Urge Other Victims to Report After Taufik Hidayat Abuse Allegations Go Viral
The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) have suggested the possibility of additional victims in the case involving the alleged unlawful detention and assault of a woman, identified by the initials YTR (29), allegedly perpetrated by Taufik Hidayat (30) in Bandung Regency.
The Head of Public Relations for West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, stated that the authorities have been monitoring several social media posts from individuals claiming to have been victims of the suspect.
“We have received social media posts from parties claiming to be victims. We are opening space for anyone who feels they have been a victim to report it,” Hendra said in Bandung on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.
However, as of now, investigators have not received any official reports regarding other alleged victims in this matter.
“In terms of facts, so far no reports have been submitted to us,” he added.
West Java Regional Police are urging members of the public who possess information or believe they have been victims to immediately submit a report to the police.
Reports can be made through the Directorate of Protection of Women and Children and Eradication of Human Trafficking (PPA-PPO) of the West Java Regional Police or via the 110 emergency service.
In addition to investigating the possibility of other victims, investigators are also delving into the motive behind the alleged detention and assault of YTR.
According to Hendra, the investigation process is ongoing, and the police are not yet able to conclude the underlying reasons for the suspect’s actions.
“Investigators are still completing evidence and witness statements to fully uncover the series of criminal acts allegedly committed by the suspect,” he said.
Currently, investigators continue to gather evidence and examine witnesses to uncover all the facts in this case, which has captured significant public attention.
West Java Regional Police have ensured that the handling of the case is being conducted professionally and in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
