The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) will soon transfer the case file of Taufik Hidayat, a suspect in the severe abuse and confinement of Yuvita Tri Rezeki (29), to the High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati). The police are currently conducting further investigation and re-examining witnesses regarding the actions taken by the perpetrator.

“The (Taufik Hidayat) case file has been completed in terms of documentation,” said West Java Police Public Relations Head, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, on Saturday (18/7/2026). He stated that investigators continue to delve deeper and re-check witness statements concerning the perpetrator’s actions.

Hendra explained that the police have already conducted a reconstruction of the case at the West Java Police headquarters on 2 July 2026. A total of 21 scenes were re-enacted by the suspect Taufik Hidayat across three main crime scenes.

Given the criminal acts committed by Taufik Hidayat, the police are charging the suspect with multiple articles, namely those concerning abuse, confinement, and violence. “This is the legal construction we have applied and strengthened with the relevant elements of the articles,” he said. A total of 31 individuals have been examined as witnesses by investigators from the Directorate of PPA and PPO of the West Java Police. “Currently, we have examined 31, but there are still two additional ones we need to strengthen,” he added.
